Come join us at 7:00am every Thursday morning, we would love to have you as a guest. One amazing thing about practicing public speaking is the incredible sense of connection you achieve with your audience. Most people will join Toastmasters for their own personal growth, but with the huge amount of support and gratitude people experience they soon find that they very quickly want others to do well also. As one of our members put it; "You go from 'me' to 'thee' in very short time."
Please contact any of our members. We all enjoy making new friends and learning about them by hearing about their interests and their careers through their speeches and we'd love to meet you TOO!
While Toastmasters International has helped millions of men and women achieve their goals, Dan Stinson has certainly done his part by helping hundreds of people from Florida to South Carolina, to our great home town of Gastonia. We recognize Dan as a charter member and appreciate his ability to instantly recall speech related tips for almost any situation.
Reine Smirz, a charter member knows how to give you the skills and confidence you need to effectively express yourself in any situation. Reine consistently shows us how a toastmaster conducts a meeting well.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step... and no one knows that better than Mark Greer! He has become an outstanding speaker, concentrating mostly on inspirational messages. Anytime you have the chance to hear Mark speak, please try to attend. We've all been able to learn from his personal experiences.
Kathy Finch is truly a treasure (and she happens to be our treasurer!). All jokes aside, Kathy's kind and gentle spirit reminds us to be caring, sensitive, and supportive. She is the epitome of a good listener and never misses a chance to applaud her fellow members. Toastmasters currently has more than 200,000 members in 80 countries and if she could, Kathy would personally congratulate each of them for their good efforts.
Our Gastonia club is just one of the more than 10,000 clubs located around the world. For membership meeting information, please see our membership information page.
Lee Deese has joined our club recently and enjoys the opportunity to learn from all of our members. He shows us how to relax, have fun, and learn from our mistakes. (In fact, he says if you're gonna mess up... mess up BIG... but then LAUGH at yourself!) We regularly hear him say how grateful he feels to learn from his own mistakes as well as the mistakes the club members make so he can avoid the unseen pitfalls of speaking and "the jitters".
